We have been talking about idioms in class. Have your child write an idiom and it's meaning on an index card and return to me by Monday for 10 bonus points in Reading!!

MAP Review

We are currently reviewing for MAP testing which will be the end of March. Many of the review material we use comes from schools in different states or comes from resources other than regular reading and may not look familiar. Some reviews will be entered as a grade in Math or Reading if the concepts or skills have already been covered.

Our student of the month is Gracie Shipman. Gracie is a good citizen who always tries to do the right thing. Way to go!!!

Gingerbread Houses

In keeping with Third Grade tradition we will be making gingerbread houses on the 17th at 1:30. I am sending home a note today with the information and supplies we need. Also, if you can be here in person that day to help, we welcome all able bodies. There is a lot of prep and clean-up involved and it sure makes the process quite a bit easier.

Christmas Play

The Christmas play is Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym. I really hope to see all of you there!

Making Butter and Cornbread!!

I recently received a toaster oven through freecycle.org and today we used it to make cornbread which we slathered with butter that we made ourselves. We had a great time and only had one accident...poor Gracie!

Kaitlyn is the student of the month for October. This month's character trait was self control and Kaitlyn truly exemplifies this trait whether she is in the classroom, hallway, or playground. She is always being careful of what she says and does and is a good role model to other students. Congratulations Kaitlyn!!
